The large maple trees outside the Boise Weekly offices were cut down this year for construction of the new street and I salvaged a couple of the stumps. A cross section of the trunk was used to create this woodcut. These four prints, all slightly different, are available at $100 each. The title of this print is a Latin play on words appropriate for the eclipse.
This show was a posthumous collaboration between my mother and me. After inheriting her life drawing sketches I incorporated them into encaustic paintings. It was a way to learn from my mother’s own hand, who was a professional watercolor artist in the southwest.
